An employee was performing maintenance on a CNC waterjet cutting machine by replacing the high pressure line. When he was testing the pressurized line, the fitting failed or broke causing the water to be released at a very high rate. It struck the employee in the chest and exited his back. The employee was standing approximately 15 ft. away from the machine.
